EDUCATION MINISTER ASKS ASUU FOR
FORGIVENESS & BUHARI APPROVE #456BN to TERTIARY INSTITUTION

Nigeria Minister of Education, Mallam
Adamu Adamu has apologized to striking
lecturers for failing to respond to their
demands on time.

The Minister made the appeal at a
reconciliatory meeting in Abuja organized by
the Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr.
Chris Ngige. In a statement presented by his
permanent secretary, he said:

We want to let you know that whatever sins
the Ministry had committed before should be
forgiven. We have repented and we will not
sin anymore. We want you to see us as
partners in progress.

It is in that spirit of forgiveness of the just
ended Ramadan fast that we feel that we
fixed the meeting to discuss and resolve the
issues."

Mallam Adamu Adamu suggested a new
round of negotiations to be reopened.

The President of the Federal Republic of
Nigeria President Muhammadu Buhari has
approved the 2022 disbursement proposals
and guidelines for public higher institutions
across the country.

The Executive Secretary of Tertiary
Education Trust Fund (TETFund), Arch.
Sunday Echono, disclosed this while
receiving the Committee of Vice Chancellors
of Nigerian Universities (CVCNU) in Abuja on
Thursday.

The money was approved amid the ongoing
strike by the Academic Staff Union of
Universities (ASUU).

WHAT IS TETFUND AND HOW IT WORKS?
TETFUND is Tertiary Education Tax Fund
which is 2.5% of assessable profit of
companies in Nigeria.
Remember that the federal government
approved the tax increase fee from 1.5% to
2 5% Tha nracident hac annrovad thie funde

This money is meant to be shared by tertiary
institutions across the Six Geo political
zones on equality basis in the following ratio

The money have always been for
revitalisation of our tertiary institutions.
That's why you will see most buildings on

It's different from ASUU's agitation.

SUMMARY:
